UPMC Transplant Services The Aging Institute UPMC Hillman Cancer Center

Center for Medicine & the Microbiome

The human microbiome comprises all the bacteria, viruses, and fungi in the human body.  We are collecting a large number of human samples for genetic and microbiome analyses to determine the impact of the microbiome and the human genome on health and disease.

We are also investigating the role of the microbiome in response to immune therapies and outcomes in organ transplantation.

Initiated by the UPMC Immune Transplant and Therapy Center.
